Evelyn Acosta-Cone
Evelyn has been painting since she was a child. Her parents, being the practical people they were, thought painting was nice but having a “real job” was better. They encouraged her art but insisted she study something that would provide an income, like teaching.
Puerto Rico is where she was born, but she has lived in the United States for most of her life. She have been fortunate to study art around the country, but seriously started painting again when she retired to Washington State. She owes the development of whatever talent she has to many wonderful teachers, especially Aldo Favili and Ruby Agnew-Martin. They were the ones who encouraged and inspired me to pursue her art.
She has lived in Marble Falls for several years. One of the many reasons she feel lucky to live here is the art exhibited around town and the Hill Country. The Hill Country is a beautiful place and inspires all kinds of creativity.
You can see her art at the Highland Art Guild and Gallery in Marble Falls, Texas. She teaches a watercolor class every Wednesday at the Gallery, gives private lessons, and does workshops.
She truly enjoys sharing her love of art with others and believes there is art in everything.
